FINAL DECISION
The final decision will be made no later than the 15th day of the month following the submission of the application.
TUITION FEE REFUND POLICY - in the Set of Student Requirement Standards of the University of Sopron:
"...(8) Specific provisions regarding third-country nationals as defined inHungarian Law Act I and Act II of 2007: third-country nationals must pay the tuition fee before submitting the visa application. If a fee-paying self-funded student from a third country terminates or suspends their student status during the semester, they are entitled to a partial refund of the tuition fee according to the following:
a) 50% of the tuition fee if the termination of the student status occurs before October 15 for the fall semester and before March 15 for the spring semester, following being registered during the registration period,
b) the amount reduced by 30% of the tuition fee if the student's visa application is rejected by the competent authority, or other reason that may make the enrollment impossible; according to the deadline in point a)
c) no refund from the tuition fee if the termination or suspension of the student status occurs after the deadlines specified in point a)...."

DOWNLOAD the APPLICATION FORM, fill it out digitally in English, print, sign and scan it. The scanned, signed copy has to be uploaded to the online application form (in Step III.)

PAY the application fee of 150 USD - this amount is non-refundable. NOTE: Payment link will be enabled only during the application period.

BACHELOR'S (BSC) PROGRAMMES
ONLY AVAILABLE FOR SEPTEMBER INTAKE
Required documents (attachments) for the online BA/BSc application form:
- Admission form to the English Degree Programmes of the University of Sopron – please download, fill out and scan the signed document;
- copy of secondary school certificate in English or German language;
- copy of passport;
- copy of English language certificate(s): TOEFL / IELTS: level B2; OR Medium of Instruction Certificate (if you are a native English speaker, please skip this section);
- copy of the payment confirmation for the application fee;
- any other documents (recommendation letters, motivation letters, CV).
In case the required documents are NOT in ENGLISH or GERMAN language then a certified copy must be attached.
Participation in the application process requires the following:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the start of the semester (1 September).
- Conditions for BA admission: valid high-school diploma and a successful admission interview.
The applicant will be informed by the faculty member about the date and time of the admission interview.
After the interview, the examiner may decide to administer an admission test, which may include reading and the use of English or testing professional skills.
MASTER'S (MA/MSC) PROGRAMMES

- copy of BA/BSc Transcript of Records;
- copy of passport;
- copy of English language certificate(s): TOEFL / IELTS: level B2; OR Medium of Instruction Certificate (if you are a native English speaker, please skip this section);
- copy of the payment confirmation for the application fee;
- any other documents (recommendation letters, motivation letters, CV).
In case the required documents are NOT in ENGLISH or GERMAN language then a certified copy must be attached.

- Conditions for MA applications: BA/BSc diploma from the same field or a related field of the chosen programme is a key for a successful admission interview.
The applicant will be informed by the faculty member about the date and time of the admission interview.
After the interview, the examiner may decide to administer an admission test, which may include reading and the use of English or testing professional skills.
NOTE: The application period for 2025 February intake is: 20th of October - 20th of November, 2024.
DOCTORAL (PHD) PROGRAMMES
ONLY AVAILABLE FOR SEPTEMBER INTAKE
- PhD in Economics and Management
- PhD in Forestry and Wildlife Management
- PhD in Wood Sciences and Technologies

- Form for Admission to the English Degree Programmes of the University of Sopron – please download, fill out and scan the signed document;
- copy of MA/MSc certificate in English or German language;
- copy of passport;
- copy of English language certificate(s): TOEFL / IELTS: level B2; OR Medium of Instruction Certificate, if you completed your BSc or MSc in English (if you are a native English speaker, please skip this section);
- copy of the payment confirmation for the application fee;
- research plan and proposal
- documented scientific and publishing activity
- other documents :recommendation letters, motivation letters, CV
In case the required documents are NOT in ENGLISH or GERMAN language then a certified copy must be attached.
Participation in the application process requires the following:
- Conditions for PhD applications: MA/MSc degree from the same field or a related field of the chosen programme is a key for a successful admission interview. Detailed research plan and prosposal, documented scientific and publishing activity and recommendation letter(s) are mandatory
- The applicant will be informed by the doctoral school member about the date and time of the admission interview.
After the interview, the examiner may decide to administer an admission test, which may include reading and the use of English.
FINAL DECISION
The final decision will be made no later than the 15th day of the month following the submission of the application.
Further information concerning the first tuition fee payment deadline will become available after successful admission.
