ARRIVAL IN SOPRON
If you come by plane you can choose from among three airports:
1. Vienna International Airport (Schwechat):
a) From the airport you need to get to the Main Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof):

At the Main Station you can find a direct train to Sopron:

b) Taxi transfer from Vienna to Sopron is also available. It takes app. 50 minutes. You will have to order it in advance. The price depends on the number of the passengers. (You might consult about your arrival beforehand.)

2. Budapest International Airport (= Liszt Ferenc Airport):
a) You will order a minibus at the minibus desk at the airport to Keleti pályaudvar (=Keleti/ East Railway Station):
b) From Keleti Railway Station you will take the direct Intercity to Sopron (2 hours 40 minutes):

Trains come daily from Budapest at the following times: 7.10; 9.10; 11.10; 13.10; 15.10; 17.10; 19.10
A seat ticket is obligatory on Hungarian IC-s. (Opposite to some other countries, e.g. Italy, you do not have to validate your ticket at the railway station: just buy the ticket and get on the train. The ticket inspector will validate it on the train.)
3. Bratislava Airport
Unfortunately, there is no direct train or bus from here. Yet, some of you might choose this option because of your plane. The best way is the taxi transfer again.
