Obtain NEK Datasheet

      • Visit a Governmental Office (Kormányablak/Kormányhivatal) and have a photo and signature taken.

      • Receive the NEK datasheet, which contains the NEK identifier needed for the application.

Register in Neptun

      • Log into the Neptun system.

      • Navigate to Administration > Student Card request and click “Add new.”

      • Enter the NEK identifier (without dashes or slashes).

      • Select the demand type (“first application,” “lost,” “due to data change,” etc.).

      • For international students, ensure the permanent home address is up-to-date in Neptun.

Data Verification

      • Make sure all personal data in Neptun matches your identification documents exactly.

Submit and Confirm

      • Click “Save” after entering all required information.

      • You may also need to upload the NEK datasheet PDF to Neptun: Information > Documents > Upload document.

Temporary Student Card

      • After submitting the application, request a temporary student card from the Study Office if needed—these are valid for 60 days and can be requested a few days after your NEK data is entered.

Receiving the Student Card

      • The permanent student card will be manufactured and sent to the university; notification will be provided via Neptun or by email once it is ready for collection.

Additional Notes

    • The application is free of charge unless the card is lost and a replacement is needed.

    • If data in Neptun does not match your documents, correct it with the study administration before applying.
