Key Uses & Benefits

• Public Transportation Discounts: Valid for purchasing heavily discounted student passes and tickets for local and intercity travel (e.g., MÁV trains, Volánbusz coaches, local transit networks).

• Student Employment: Serves as the required proof of active status for student employment agencies (diákszövetkezetek).

• Cultural & Commercial Concessions: Grants student rates at museums, libraries, cinemas, theaters, and participating businesses.

• Official Verification: Valid for third-party procedures requiring proof of enrollment (e.g., residence permit maintenance, insurance, family allowances).

Eligibility & Prerequisites

You can only request this certificate if all of the following conditions are met:

1. Enrollment Completed: You have officially enrolled for the current semester and your status is Active.

2. FIR Synchronization: Your profile has been synchronized with the Central Higher Education Information System (FIR – Felsőoktatási Információs Rendszer).

3. Education ID Received: Your official 11-digit Education ID (oktatási azonosító) has been generated and transferred back into Neptun.

Where to find your Education ID in Neptun:

Log in to Neptun and navigate to My data > Personal information > General data.

If the Education ID field is still blank, the synchronization is still in progress; you will be able to request the certificate as soon as the 11-digit number appears.

Important Conditions

• Validity Period: Each certificate is valid for exactly 60 days from the issue date. If your physical card does not arrive within this period, you must request a new certificate.

• Format Requirements: While authenticated electronic versions with digital signatures/QR codes are widely accepted, conductors and authorities may require an officially signed and stamped hard copy. Always check the specific requirements of the receiving
